You are welcome to pay your fees privately if you do not require financial assistance. You may wish to fund your care through income, pension or sale of an asset. Paying your fees on a private basis will be agreed with you prior to your admission and the information will be included in your Contract of Care.
Choosing end of life care with Silver Stream can ensure that you continue to receive care that meets your physical, spiritual, emotional and social needs whilst respecting your care choices, dignity and autonomy. You can be as busy as you want to be, choosing from a daily programme of recreational activities. You can choose to spend time in private or visit one of the communal areas to meet with other residents. The group works in partnership with the nursing home to maintain and improve the quality of life for the residents in the home.

We advise you to contact the Revenue Commissioners to check your entitlements prior to, or upon commencement of paying your fees, as the tax allowances can be applied to the current tax year. The person-centred care approach focuses on the individual, not the illness or conditions. A care plan will be created, based on your social care and health needs, and your care will be provided in accordance with your wishes and preferences. If you have a disability that requires a reasonable accommodation to search for a job opening or submit an application, please email with your request and contact information. Silver Stream Healthcare Group accepts volunteers through our Volunteer Programme. We have weekly visits from established volunteers, who provide companionship for residents. Following your stay, Silver Stream will provide you with all the documentation necessary to complete your medical insurance claim.

Living in residential care, while life changing, can also be hugely rewarding. It can present you with new opportunities in a caring and safe environment. All additional fees and service charges will be discussed and agreed with you in advance. Where these fees are not covered by your entitlements, or included in your care fees, the fee will appear on your monthly invoice.
If at any time while you are paying privately, you wish to apply for financial assistance then please discuss this with the Director of Nursing at your earliest convenience. A step away from the clinical hospital setting, we can continue to provide quality medical and nursing care, but in a private, homely and caring environment. We have care procedures in place so that the resident is only transferred to an acute setting when there are specific or advanced medical requirements that are outside our care practices. Respite care can also be conducive to assessing whether residential care is a suitable care option for you, allowing you to partake in the daily activities of the home, without fully committing to long stay care.
Convalescence Care

Our chefs provide only fresh meals made from the finest ingredients to ensure all our residents enjoy a healthy and balanced diet. Your income and assets are assessed and your weekly contribution is worked out.
This is an optional extra feature of the Nursing Home Support Scheme for people who own property or land-based assets in Ireland. Instead of paying your full weekly contribution for your care from your own means, you can choose to apply for a Nursing Home Loan, to cover the portion of your contribution which is based on property or land assets. The HSE will then pay that portion of your cost of care on top of your State Support payment.
Including residential care as an option offers an additional support tier when coping with your illness. Your care team will work in consultation with the multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals involved to ensure the optimum level of care and assistance. As a resident you will have the same benefits and opportunities as long stay residents, with access to all services and facilities including health and social care programmes. You will also have access to a panel of therapeutic and specialist services on a private fee basis. As Silver Stream Healthcare Group have no direct payment scheme with medical insurance companies, you will be required to pay your fees upon admission to residential care.
Our staff are experienced and specifically trained to care for people who have developed dementia. Our professional care teams will be there to support you and your family at this difficult time. Long Stay Residential Care is designed for people who need assistance with the essential activities of daily living. You will make the transition to residential care while still retaining your highest level of ability, autonomy and independence. You will exercise choice in your way of life and make personal decisions in relation to your care. We find that understanding your options can help you make the best choices for your personal circumstances.
Following a convalescence care period, you will be consulted on whether you wish to return home or avail of our continuing care options. The Carer’s Grant is an annual payment made to carers by the Department of Social Protection. Carers may use this grant to avail of respite care for the person to whom they are providing care in a Silver Stream Home.
The landscaped gardens and grounds flourish during the summer months and residents enjoy hosting a program of outdoor events and activities. Accommodation is configured to address the needs of all potential residents and includes superior single, companion and shared accommodation, with assisted bath and shower rooms. Clontarf Private Nursing Home also has a dedicated laundry facility onsite.
When your stay is complete, Silver Stream will maintain your care plan should you wish to return or avail of our continuing care options. Our Finance Management Team continually monitor and review all additional and ancillary service fees to ensure that they remain appropriate. Care Environment
Clontarf Private Nursing Home originally stood as three separate redbrick townhouses, which have now been combined and renovated to include 35 long stay care beds. Every effort has been made to ensure the homely atmosphere and charm of Clontarf Private Nursing Home is maintained. We are committed to an open hiring process, and we are not connected with these types of services or individuals. We are not liable for any loss or damage incurred as a result of dealing with such entities. There are two types of financial support available under this scheme – State Support and a Nursing Home Loan . A long stay resident who pays tax under PAYE can apply to have the expenses allowed in their tax credit certificate.
