MEDWAY — If you walk into the Muffin House Cafe during the busy hours, you are greeted by the smell of freshly baked goods, and surrounded by the chatter of customers in the dining area. Sheldon Strasnick, the owner of Muffin House, said he has been working since he was 10 years old to bring the cafe experience to his customers. Strasnick hopes to one day pass the family business over to his 21-year-old son Josh Strasnick who is currently studying business management at Framingham State. Strasnick’s late father, Bernard Strasnick, was the owner of a bakery called the Broadway Pastry Shop located in Chelsea.

Strasnick said the new location in Mendon will have a minimum of 20 employees working there. All of the baked items are freshly baked each day, and any leftovers will be donated to local food pantries. These locations are permanently closed, which led Strasnick to open up the Muffin House. On average 600 customers are served each weekday, and 1,000 customers served each day on the weekends. Strasnick has owned the Muffin House since May 2014.

Working with his father as a child, and throughout high school, Strasnick followed in his father’s footsteps long after his father’s passing in 1984. They are very nice in there, cute space, tons of options from bagels and avocado, toast, to every kind of muffin, you can imagine, to pastries, and even soup!
